Jack is a Plein Air oil painter living in Santa Fe.  He began painting in 1975 while living and teaching on a Native American pueblo

Michelangelo of the Southwest, influencing his early as shown here. Life unfolded with other opportunities, and Jack
didn't paint again for 40 years.  In 2017 discovered Plein Air painting with Sally Delap-John, capturing scenes
in Truchas and throughout  Northern New Mexico.  Mc Gowan has also had instruction with great Southwest and
National artists including; Michael McGuire, Chris Morel, Peggy Immel, JoeAnna Arnett, Michael Chesley Johnson

My Painters view brings my world view to painting.  Painting beautiful Northern New Mexico landscapes highlights how  imprortant saving our planet is to me.  Depicting old villages in my paintings should remind us of simpler times when our environment footprint was smaller.

My world view was shaped by a first carreer in energy efficiency, using innovation  and technology to reduce the energy foot print of 21st century life style on the planet. This thinking informed my work as CEO of a leading edge efficency company and on Corporate Boards.

Member of Oil Painters of America. Plein Air Painters of New Mexico and Plein Air Airtists of Colorado. He is represented by Santa Fe Art Collector, 217 Galisteo St., Santa Fe, NM, 505 988 5545    Contact: or [email protected]
